What is life coaching?

Life coaching is about transformation. It’s about navigating and empowering oneself to instigate change for a better and more fulfilled life. It’s about having the space and time to navigate the problems you feel you are facing and working towards finding a solution. It offers you the opportunity to set and reach your desired personal goals and become the best version of you. It helps you identify areas that you’d like to change or improve by looking at where you are now, where you want to be, and what you need to do to get there. A Life Coach is your mentor and the person that helps empower you to stay focused and work towards creating the life you want.

Life coaching is a stimulating and creative process intended to inspire you, encourage you, and drive you to maximise your own potential. It helps you identify your strengths, recognise and accept your areas for personal development and achieve your personal life and professional goals. You will learn new tools and strategies to help you stay focused and motivated so you can make positive, lasting changes. 

During your coaching sessions, you explore what it is you really want to achieve in life and what areas you feel could be improved. You think about your future goals and then together we consider what you will need to help you achieve those, you reflect on your progress, it helps you to stay motivated and focused on those goals and work through those places where you might feel stuck and also navigate the challenges that you might encounter on the way. 

As part of the journey, we may at times move outside of your comfort zone but you will never be asked to do anything you don’t want to do. You are the commander in chief of your journey. If you ever feel that something isn’t working for you, we work through this so you can decide what adjustments are needed to achieve the outcome you desire.

Life Coaching is not too dissimilar to talking therapies but with the addition of being more proactively guided. It involves actively listening, facilitating questions that encourage diverse thinking, goal setting, guidance, mentoring and support.

My Style of Coaching

Life Coaching

The purpose of all the services I offer is to help my clients achieve their personal goals within a safe and supportive environment, whether that be mental health or life, they are all at their foundation about offering support where perhaps it cannot be accessed elsewhere. Life Coaching as with therapy helps you to overcome your challenges in a positive and efficient way. 

With over 30 years of working with people in various capacities, be it through management, mentoring, training or therapy, it has equipped me with knowledge and skills that can help you face the life challenges you may be struggling to navigate alone. Through a solution focused approach combined with therapeutic interventions, I can help you create positive change in your life but not only addressing some of the causes and symptoms but also focusing on the future and the desired outcomes and how to achieve them through positive change. 

You are the expert of your life and the resources to find the solutions are within you. My work with you is to facilitate you in unlocking those parts of yourself that might be holding you back or to help you make sense of things so that you can then move forward in a positive and proactive way. Together we will face and tackle the problems head on and focus our attention on finding the solutions that are workable for you. We will create a realistic vision of what your preferred future looks like and work towards achieving your goals.

I will take the time with you to identify those resources and strengths that are within you and work on developing your confidence, encouraging optimism, focus on potential success and possibilities rather than dwelling on failures and limitations. 

We will develop a healthy and strong mindset so that you begin to believe in yourself and your vision of the person you want to be. I will support you through the journey, help you overcome challenges you feel prevent you from achieving your goals, we will unlock potential that is being supressed and work towards those things in life that matter to you. 

As a life coach and therapist, my hope is that the work we will do together will empower you to take action in every sphere of your life. All the strength and knowledge lies within you and I will help you reclaim access your internal resources that are lying dormant such as your own unrealised strengths abilities and gifts and in so doing, help you feel more capable, competent, empowered, clear and passionate, with the result being in you taking positive action and taking your life in the direction you wish for it to go.
